Smith’s Not So Gallant Cousin Vinny

Written on December 14th, 2012

This tune was written by John for a medley played by the Peel Regional Police (grade 1) Pipe Band.

The inspiration behind the title, came when John realized that the last two measures in each part followed a similar musical progression to the famous strathspey “Smith’s A Gallant Fireman”.  So having just watched the movie “My Cousin Vinny”, John thought it would be cute to refer back to the strathspey … but with a twist.
